BGI IUL MIT Portugal is an American style, world-class, deep innovation accelerator part of the MIT Portugal program. BGI is based in Lisbon (Portugal), conducting some components of its acceleration program in Cambridge. We are a NFP owned by one of the top management universities in Portugal, ISCTE-IUL. As a deep innovation accelerator, focus on 4 verticals: Medical Devices & Health IT, Smart Cities & Industry 4.0 solutions, Enterprise IT & Smart Data and Water Economy. Since 2010, BGI alumni has supported 120 ventures which have aggregately risen over €110 Mio, with a survival rate of 73% to date and a creation of 727 high-tech jobs. Such results have enabled us to be considered one of the top 100 leaders accelerators in the world (by hot topics) and top 20 in Europe (by Fundacity). BGI is the entity that runs the Climate KIC accelerator.

Program Focus

The Climate-KIC Accelerator supports start-ups, offering solutions to tackle climate change with knowledge, resources, tools and coaching needed for success. The two main focus will be Business Modal Validation and Costumers Aquisitions’ through private mentorship and personalized coaching.

The following documents are to be delivered by the 3rd of July, via email to, as part of the application:

  • Application Form, completed by the project contact person or company legal representative.
  • Curriculum Vitae according to Europass form, in the provided format for the company legal representative and/or the project contact person from the legal representative. In case of projects presented by non-registered companies, CVs of all team members must be provided.
  • Business Register Information, for registered companies only
  • Photocopy of an Identity Document: Of the Company Legal representative or main contact person for non-registered companies.

All documents must be signed by the legal representative of the registered companies and by the main contact person for non-registered companies and sent in PDF format.
